CHRIS VIOLA/The Times-Union--08/25/08 -- Joey Chauncey rows away from his home in the St.Marys River Bluff area of Charlton County, Georgia two days after the river rose to 10 feet above flood level and entered his home, Monday, August 25, 2008. Chauncey said the water rose from knee deep to waist deep inside his home from Saturday morning to the afternoon.
Apart from the furniture in the home Chauncey also lost a vehicle and other items in his yard. Some 15 dwellings were damaged by water including five trailers that are considered to be total losses by Charlton County Emergency Management Authority director Monroe Todd.
